A new location, a new showroom, a new…logo?

Along with our upcoming move, we have been researching and developing ideas for a new and more graphic identity that, visually, will compliment and reinforce the commitment we have to our client relationships, our collaborative company culture, and our unique position in the southern California contract furnishings market.

We have read. And read some more. We bounce ideas around and we are left…overwhelmed!

Excuse us - it’s time for coffee and another round of ideation and drafts...

Ready for take-off!

We are excited to plan and move into our new showroom location in early 2019 at one of Irvine Company’s newest premier office locations in Orange County, THE LAUNCH. Located on the 4th floor at 18600 MacArthur Blvd., SOURCE Creative Office Interiors will have some great new neighbors, including SAA and our customer, Bonfire Studios.

In the photo above, we are highlighting one of the statement pieces that will greet visitors upon arrival to the new SOURCE showroom. Using oak and charcoal grey as the base finishes for the integrated sit/stand benching solution, we are accenting the piece with glossy black and yellow storage. We have added a planter one of the many available accessory pieces, a planter, filled with succulents (shown on the right). “Rockit” is a flexible hospitality influenced benching solution that our customers love for its truly unique look.

How can we help you make the move to your new office, or refresh your existing space? Contact us and we will share our passion about creative work spaces with your team!

SOURCE is more than furniture

What an exciting time to be part of the interior design industry. So many architectural design firms have added services to better offer their clients a complete package of focused and fully realized spaces. From graphic design and branding/marketing to assistance with creating the casual hospitality environments employees have come to expect, design is more than planning and finishes.

We thought it would be fun to share a little bit of work on a project we are especially invested in - our office relocation. From our internal office relationships to specific technical needs, transition can be difficult. Luckily, with some vision and a few deep breaths we are moving full-steam ahead.

We look forward to sharing our journey!

Ancillary is everything

From a Huffington Post article, the term “ancillary” was born to describe “everything else” in an office design project when 80% of a floorplate was systems furniture. However, as ancillary now nears – or sometimes exceeds – 50% of the square footage in many creative offices, the term hardly holds true. Ancillary is more important - becoming a primary driver of flexible and efficient alternative work and collaboration areas.

Many brilliant workplace strategists, keen product development teams, and talented architects and designers are serving this industry well by doing their part to help design what this new world of work will look like in physical form, policy, and culture, but there is still much to figure out.

At SOURCE, we approach these hospitality spaces as natural areas for staff to ditch the desk for awhile and engage with others - or work on their own - in lounge and "living room" environments that have become so popular.

Sound Absorbing Art? Sign us up!

Another find from Best of Neocon 2018, "Pixel" by Scandinavian Spaces reinterprets sound absorption using beautiful natural, hand-picked Scandinavian Reindeer Moss.

Each Pixel element retains its colors, is fire-proof, absorbs & releases humidity to remain soft, and is completely maintenance-free.  Pixels are handmade, natural and made in Sweden.

A complimentary product, "Convex" too is a high-class sound absorbent product. The convex form of the panel allows for a full and distinct shape, while the moss' structure enables the absorption of sound waves from multiple directions.

  • Natural & Authentic. Only 100% natural and authentic Reindeer Moss (Cladonia stellaris) is used.
  • High Class Sound Absorber: Pixel and Convex absorb up to twice as much sound  as the industry average for products of same size and thickness.
  • Environmentally Friendly: Pixel and Convex Reindeer Moss is hand-picked with care for nature, and certified & approved by ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards.
  • Fire-Resistant: Nordgröna Reindeer Moss is certified by ISO 11925-2 for interior use.
  •  Air Purifying: Through a constant cycle of absorption and release of ambient moisture, air particles are removed.
  • Natural Humidity Indicator: Reindeer Moss dries when the relative humidity falls below 40%, and returns soft again above 40%.
  • Hypoallergenic: Nordgröna products do not contain toxic chemicals or components.
  • Maintenance-Free: The Reindeer Moss does not require any sunlight, watering or pruning.

This, and Bio Canvas, are a few of our newest green wall solutions - that removes the maintenance - while creating modern and eye catching additions in a creative office.

Meet Account Manager Laura Schaberg

SOURCE account manager Laura Schaberg is quite the multi-tasker!  Not only is she a busy and talented addition to our team, she pulls double duty as author and curator of her own southern influenced baking and cooking blog "Hint of Southern".  We at SOURCE are lucky enough to treat ourselves to her delicious creations whenever we have in-office events!

Laura writes the blog herself and, with a little help from her husband, beautifully photographs her creations with step-by-step instructions.  In honor of this 4th of July, take a look at her Patriotic Dessert.  Here's more about Laura:

"Hi, I’m Laura, from Southern California, but I say y’all. After 4 years of college at High Point University in North Carolina, I developed a southern accent. When I returned home, everyone became confused by my southern drawl and questioned where I was from. This is fitting since my mom always taught me southern hospitality through entertaining and cooking for others. Now that I have been out of college for a few years the accent has faded a little bit, but it’s still there. I call it my hint of southern.
Since college I have become part of the interior design industry, which worked out perfectly since I majored in art history and home furnishings. Baking and cooking have always been a way for me to relax when I get home from work. Now I get to share my love for food and interior design with y’all.
One of my fondest memories growing up was learning how to bake from my mom and grandmother. They showed me how to bake the best strawberry rhubarb pie and create mini cinnamon crust rolls from the extra dough. Each recipe brings me back to a certain time in my life…the smell of sautéed mushrooms, caramelized onions, or chocolate chip cookies.
Being southern is more than where you are from. A hint of southern is incorporating hospitality, food and charm into your life, while sharing it with others."

Take a look at all of her tasty creations and, from all of us at SOURCE, enjoy a safe and festive 4th of July!
